This is one of the most common questions we get at Jake's Auto Spa — and the honest answer is: it depends. It depends on your vehicle, how you use it, what North Idaho's seasons are doing to it, and how much you care about keeping it in great condition.

The Minimum — Once a Year

If you do nothing else, get a proper full detail at least once a year. This removes a year's worth of accumulated contamination from your paint, refreshes your interior, and applies fresh protection. Without this, contaminants bond deeper into your paint every year and become harder and more expensive to remove.

The Recommended — Twice a Year

Most vehicles in North Idaho benefit from two details per year:

Fall detail (October/November): Before winter hits. Get your paint decontaminated and protected so road salt doesn't have direct access to your clear coat all winter.

Spring detail (April/May): After winter. Remove accumulated road salt, grime, and contamination before it causes permanent damage.

If You Drive Daily — Every 3–4 Months

Daily drivers take more abuse than vehicles used occasionally. More miles means more bugs, more road grime, more UV exposure, more interior wear. If you're putting 15,000+ miles a year on your vehicle, quarterly maintenance details make a significant difference.

Jake's Auto Spa offers maintenance pricing for existing clients — discounted rates for customers who come back regularly.

If You Have a Luxury Vehicle — Monthly Maintenance

If you drive a Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Lambo, or any vehicle you've invested significant money in, monthly maintenance is the right approach. Jake's Auto Spa offers weekly and biweekly luxury maintenance plans specifically for this.

Signs You Need a Detail Right Now
